The completion of a thesis is mandatory for obtaining a degree in Occupational Therapy. It is typically undertaken during the spring semester of the 4th year of studies and is credited with 10 ECTS. The aim of the thesis is to provide students with the opportunity to study in depth a specific topic related to their Program of Study and their interests. It also familiarizes them with the design and implementation of research projects, as well as the writing of academic texts. The thesis represents the final opportunity for evaluation and self-assessment of the knowledge and skills students have developed during their undergraduate studies. In collaboration with their Supervising Professor, students test their scientific reasoning on a topic of interest to produce a scientific text that demonstrates skills in literature review, research design and/or implementation, and, most importantly, the ability to clarify their theoretical position and critically assess it at a theoretical and/or methodological level. The thesis may take the form of a literature review, a case study, or an empirical research study and can be written in either Greek or English.
Instructions for the preparation of the Undergraduate Thesis are provided in Annex 2 of the Undergraduate Program Regulations of the Department.
